FACE will participate in On the Move's Cultural Mobility Forum, a dynamic platform for collectively exploring the evolving landscape of international artistic and cultural mobility.
The 2026 edition, taking place in Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia, will delve into the systemic inequities embedded in cultural mobility. How do visa restrictions, economic disparities, and geopolitical hierarchies shape—or limit—transnational cultural participation? The Forum will critically examine how current structures often reinforce inequality, rather than enable universal access.
Through artist-led initiatives, decolonial practices, and policy innovation, participants will explore alternative models of cultural exchange—from self-organised networks to solidarity-based economies. By prioritising fair labour standards, equitable visa policies, and creative freedom, the Forum aims to reimagine a more just and inclusive framework for international collaboration.
At a time when independent cultural cooperation in Southeast Europe (SEE) faces escalating challenges, the Forum will amplify the voices of local practitioners. Together, we will address the deteriorating political climate that threatens their mobility, artistic expression, and ability to connect across borders.
