In the framework of the conference "The Future Is Not What It Used To Be" organised on 2 - 4 April 2014, several European networks, including FACE, will participate to a first High-Level Coordination Meeting called "Moving Europe – a joint effort for the Arts". This meeting will gather secretary generals, directors, managers, coordinators and board members of European cultural networks and international organisations to strengthen individual strategies, imagine coordinated actions and long-term partnerships, and design tools to support our respective members in their needs.
If we want to accomplish real change, we better get organised now. To multiply the effect of our single efforts to influence political decisions and create public support, this Coordination Meeting is the flying start of an intensified and structured collaboration between European networks and organisations advocating for the arts. How can networks engage their members to engage their audiences and communities all over Europe? The challenges are staggering, yet there is nothing worse than not trying. With the European election only 2 months away, the polls show the risk of populist and xenophobic forces in power. How to convince our citizens of the importance of culture & arts and an inclusive Europe?
This meeting, gathering secretary generals and coordinators of cultural networks, is organised by Trans Europe Halles in partnership with Culture Action Europe, IETM, Kunsten92, ResArtis, European Culture Foundation, OnTheMove and FACE. More information online.
