Prototype: residency for cultural journalists

02/07/2015 - 05/07/2015
@ En Piste, Montréal (Québec, Canada)

En Piste, in partnership with TOHU, organised a residency for cultural journalists, critics and chief editors working in daily papers, magazines and new media in the framework of Montréal Complètement Cirque 2015.

Inspired by the European cooperation project Unpack the Arts, FACE proposed to test this innovative concept in Northern-America and welcome media professionals from the US and Canada to raise their awareness of today's international contemporary circus scene.

The goal of the incubated programme is to facilitate the circulation of knowledge and experience, to develop the critical discourses of its participants, and to strengthen the role of the media within the physical theatre field and contemporary society.

This second initiative gathered 10 arts writers from Canada and the US: Kim Campbell (Chicago, Illinois, USA), Rebecca T. Galloway (Montreal, Quebec, Canada), Kathleen Smith (Toronto, Ontario, Canada), Janie Mallet (Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada), Josianne Desloges (Canada), Crystal Chan (Montreal, Quebec, Canada), Maxime D. Pomerleau (Montreal, Quebec, Canada), Roy Gomez Cruz (Chicago, Illinois, USA), Robin J. Miller (Sidney, BC, Canada), Stephen Hunt (Calgary, Alberta, Canada).

An online publication gathering the articles by participants is available here.
