Together with ACAPTA (Australian Circus And Physical Theatre Association), FACE proposed a one-day discussion for artistic companies on Monday 13 October 2014. Steamed-Out aims to encourage collective reflection and exchange of practices in regards to contemporary circus creation processes.
Organisers propose participants to discuss perceptions of today's circus and physical theatre in both continents, to map international opportunities (residencies, workshops, laboratories, etc.) for cross-pollination of arts practices and raise interest for creative collaboration between Europe and Australia. The purpose of this special event was therefore to lay the foundation of artistic collaboration and cross-disciplinary / trans-continental creative exchange.
Discussions was animated by Gail Kelly (ACAPTA), Kiki Muukkonen (Subtopia), Ivan Kralj (Mala performerska scena) and Yohann Floch (FACE), and took place at Circus Oz.
The Melbourne festival, in partnership with ACAPTA, proposed the two-day conference Circus Futures, that contributed to feed the Steamed-Out conversations. Find bellow:
