Training and Workshops

In order to work, to grow, to experiment with new ideas, and to strengthen professional pathways, FACE actively supports creative workers through joint training and learning opportunities. Gathering different target groups from the culture field (from programmers to tour bookers, communication and marketing managers to producers, advocates to researchers), FACE proposes tailor-made workshops to share work methods and tools, exchange on the implementation of work programmes, and build strategic partnerships. In particular, the purpose is to deepen our mutual understanding of work practices in order to compare the dynamics of organisations and analyse their responsibilities and decision-making processes.

Since 2014, FACE has organised 41 European tailor-made training programmes, for 820+ participants.

Vocational education and training (VET)

FACE possesses extensive experience in delivering VET that enhances the capacities of the arts and culture workforce to engage in transnational project management and the internationalisation of individual careers. Through both short-term training programmes and longer mentoring formats, FACE ensures that learners develop a deeper understanding of their target groups and improve their ability to reach and communicate with them effectively.
FACE empowers learners by equipping them with tools to manage projects, critically analyse their situations, and develop solutions. The organisation focuses on fostering a range of specific skills, including:

  • Understanding the intricacies of planning, executing, and evaluating cross-border cultural projects from start to finish, encompassing budget management, risk assessment, and communication strategies.
  • Exploring various internationalisation strategies and adapting them to individual contexts, identifying international opportunities, establishing and managing international partnerships, and evaluating the success of these strategies.
  • Building and maintaining professional networks, utilising these networks to share knowledge and experiences, and discovering new opportunities and partnerships.
  • Employing digital marketing techniques to leverage digital tools and platforms for promoting events and activities.

Throughout its VET activities, FACE integrates a strong commitment to transversal awareness regarding access, equity, and diversity within the arts and culture sector, ensuring that these principles are embedded in all educational initiatives.

Large-scale skills partnership for the Cultural and Creative Industries Ecosystem

FACE is an active member of the Large-scale Skills Partnership for the Cultural and Creative Industries ecosystem as part of the European Commission’s flagship action aiming to promote a culture of lifelong learning for all, building strong skills partnerships, monitoring skills supply/demand and anticipating skills needs and working against discrimination and for gender equality and equal opportunities.
